Nissan teases GT-R ahead of New York auto show debut
“Godzilla” is expected to tear into the New York International Auto Show next week for Nissan Motor Co.
The Japanese automaker on Wednesday released a teaser shot of what appears to be the rear silhouette of the Nissan GT-R, which has gained the nickname “Godzilla” after the fictional movie monster.
It’s unclear whether or not the car will be an updated version of the current $100,000-plus sports car or an all-new generation. Expectations are that it is a refreshed version of the current model.
No additional information, including the name of the car to be unveiled, was provided in the release. It was scheduled to be unveiled Wednesday morning during the first press day of the New York show.
Nissan has not yet released information on its second scheduled press conference on the second press preview day of the show. Judging by the location of the unveiling in the lower level of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, which traditionally houses pickups, it’s likely connected to the Titan pickup.
Nissan released photos of the 2017 Titan at the Chicago Auto Show in February, but did not have an actual truck on the floor.
