General Motors Co.’s Chevrolet brand is giving a hint of its new design for the next-generation Chevrolet Volt a bit ahead of its official reveal in January at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

The bow-tie brand gave Volt enthusiasts an early look of the newly designed plug-in hybrid electric vehicle at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

A photo showing part of the front of the car, the grille and headlamp was released Thursday on the Chevrolet Volt Twitter page. The tweet reads: “We just want to be up front with you. Here’s a new look at the #NextGenVolt at the @LAAutoShow! Who’s ready for #NAIAS?”

GM has said the new 2016 Volt will have a significantly longer all-electric range, a powertrain that is 130 pounds lighter, better acceleration and a new interior. It will be built at the Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Plant.
