General Motors Co. Friday teased a photo of the front of its refreshed 2016 Chevrolet Equinox that will be shown next week at the Chicago Auto Show.

The Equinox crossover appears to get new headlights and lower headlamps as part of its refresh. It will be revealed Thursday.

Chevy sold 242,242 Equinox crossovers last year, up 1.7 percent from 2013 totals. January sales rose to a January record 19,555, up 34.4 percent from January 2014. It’s the third most popular selling Chevy, behind the Silverado pickup.

The Equinox gets its first major refresh since the 2010 model year as the compact SUV segment continues to grow. The small SUV segment topped the midsize car segment last year to become the auto industry’s largest sales volume segment.

GM builds the popular Equinox crossover in three North American plants.
