General Motors Co.’s GMC brand Wednesday released photos of the 2017 Sierra Denali 2500HD truck, a premium heavy-duty truck with an updated hood.

The pictures show a hood scoop design and Duramax badge for the truck’s diesel engine. The automaker hinted at powertrain changes with the hood difference from the 2016 model, but said additional details about the vehicle would be released “in the coming months.”

The 2017 Sierra Denali is expected to hit showrooms this fall.

GMC launched the upscale Denali trim in 1999 and it accounts for about a quarter of the premium brand’s sales. Denali is offered on the Sierra, Acadia, Yukon and Terrain and this fall is adding the trim to the 2017 Canyon midsize pickup. GMC said 48 percent of Sierra heavy-duty pickups sold to retail customers in May were with the Denali trim.
