As of midday Friday, the North American International Auto Show had sold 13,300 Charity Preview tickets, just 526 short of last year's total.

Tickets will be on sale until 6 p.m.

Those 13,300 represent $5.3 million raised, about 85 percent of which goes to the nine benefiting children's charities, according to auto show executive director Rod Alberts.

"We should finish pretty close to last year's (sales) figures," said auto show spokesman Joe Rohatynski — despite the fact that this year's tickets, at $400 apiece, are $50 higher than in 2014.
