Zeke’s Rock and Roll BBQ will hold a soft opening this week in Ferndale. The meat-centric bar and restaurant has been teasing followers on social media the past few days with photos of cool metal signage and the promise of opening “soon.”

Pumping the smell of smoked meat all through downtown Ferndale, Zeke’s will have all the barbecue staples including ribs, chicken, burnt ends and brisket, plus mac and cheese, coleslaw and cornbread.

Look for a remarkable Cuban sandwich with thick cuts of ham, pork, swiss, pickle and mustard. The pineapple jalapeno barbeque sauce and fried cheese curds are two other stand-out items.

Zeke’s dark maroon walls are decorated with records from local and classic rock bands, as well as from the Seattle hardcore band Zeke, which is only fitting. The same bands that are seen on the walls can be heard over the speakers, too.

The full bar offers everything from craft bottled beers to Busch in a can, and the liquor selection is healthy with many flavored vodkas and a good array of whiskey. Zeke’s, at 240 W. Nine Mile, also has a full wine and cocktail menu.
