Detroit Symphony Orchestra announces four free concerts
The Detroit Symphony Orchestra will present four community concerts Thursday through Sunday — all free, thanks to the DTE Energy Foundation.
Conducted by DSO music director Leonard Slatkin, the concerts will include Verdi’s “Triumphal March,” Bizet’s selections from “Carmen,” contemporary film scores by John Williams, and Rodgers’ selections from “Oklahoma!”
Times and venues are:
7:30 p.m. Thursday — Prechter Educational and Performing Arts Center, 21000 Northline, Taylor
10 a.m. Friday — Greater Grace Temple, 23500 W. 7 Mile, Detroit
8 p.m. Saturday — Lincoln High School, 22900 Federal, Warren
3 p.m. Sunday — Pioneer High School - Schreiber Auditorium, 601 W. Stadium, Ann Arbor
