DIY Street Fair and Funky Ferndale Art Fair in downtown Ferndale
Between these two creativity-packed events there will be more than 250 vendors and loads of people-watching. The DIY Street Fair also has a huge stage with live music. Grand Rapids’ ska/punk band Mustard Plug is tonight’s headliner, and DJ Ryan Spencer spins on Sunday evening.

Jazzin’ on the River at A.B. Ford Park
This free, family-friendly event kicks off with Sean Dobbins’ organ quartet at 2 p.m., followed by Heritage Works African dance and drumming, the Marion Hayden Sextet, Planet D Nonet Township Jazz Band and Perry Hughes and OGD. Kids can keep busy with African dance and drumming lessons, kayaking, face painting and soccer. The event also includes art, historic tours and food. Noon-9 p.m. today. Free. ‘Marvel Universe Live!’ at The Palace of Auburn Hills
