Chris Rock will host Academy Awards

Comedian Chris Rock will return to host the 88th Academy Awards on Feb. 28, producers David Hill and Reginald Hudlin announced Wednesday. Rock, who also hosted in 2005, says he is “so glad.” “It’s great to be back,” he said. Last year Neil Patrick Harris hosted the ceremony, drawing the lowest ratings in six years, according to Variety; it was down 16 percent from the year before. The show will broadcast from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

Bob Barker injured in fall

Former “Price is Right” host Bob Barker was hospitalized after tripping and hitting his head on the sidewalk Tuesday morning, CNN reports. Fortunately, police officers witnessed the fall and attended to the 91-year-old television legend immediately. Barker suffered some lacerations and was taken to the hospital in an ambulance. He was conscious and alert, according to reports.

Zendaya calls out magazine for photoshop

After actress Zendaya was featured in an issue of Modeliste magazine, she said she was “shocked” to find her images were photoshopped to make her look slimmer. “Was shocked when I found my 19-year-old hips and torso quite manipulated,” she wrote in an Instagram post. “These are the things that make women self conscious, that create the unrealistic ideals of beauty that we have. Anyone who knows who I am knows I stand for honest and pure self love.” Zendaya then applauded Modeliste for pulling the retouched images.

Cosby replaces lawyer

A Bill Cosby update: The disgraced comedian has replaced his longtime lawyer, Martin Singer. Christopher Tayback will now represent Cosby in the lawsuits filed against him by a woman saying she was sexually assaulted in the 1970s when she was 15, and also a defamation lawsuit filed by model Janice Dickinson.
