Bowie tribute spotted on Michigan billboard

An anonymous David Bowie fan has purchased a billboard in Michigan to honor the late icon who died Sunday. The sign reads “The Stars Look Very Different Today,” a quote from Bowie’s 1969 song “Space Oddity.” It was spotted near Metro Detroit on I-75 and I-96. A photo was posted to Reddit and a photo that NME Magazine posted to its Facebook page got more than 1,000 shares.

Rick Ross to Rolling Stone: ‘I love Adele’

Rapper Rick Ross is just like everybody else in that he is a fan of British singer Adele. “I love Adele,” he told Rolling Stone. “When I see her, I may kiss Adele. She speaks for so many people. When I hear her voice, I stop and make that face and say ‘what the (expletive) man?’ ” He added that he has “a beat ready for her if I ever run across her.” Ross spent much of 2015 under house arrest due to a pending case related to the alleged assault and kidnapping of a former employee. That gave him time to work on his eighth studio album, “Black Market,” which he released last month.

Two local chefs to compete on ‘Hell’s Kitchen’

Two Metro Detroit chefs will be featured on the next season of “Hell’s Kitchen” starring the intense celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, which debuts at 9 p.m. Friday on Fox. Jared Bobkin, 28, is executive chef at Ferndale’s Local Kitchen and Bar in Ferndale. He’s joined by catering chef Hassan Musselmani, who is just 24. The chefs are among 18 professionals vying to win the position of head chef at BLT Steak at Bally’s in Las Vegas. Along the way, they’ll have to compete in culinary challenges and cook for celebrity diners like Kris Jenner, astronaut Buzz Aldrin, Lil Jon, Bill Engvall, Steve Aoki and others.

Luke Bryan hits Ford Field in October

Country superstar Luke Bryan will perform at Ford Field on Oct. 29. Dustin Lynch and Little Big Town will open the show. Ticket prices and on-sale date haven’t been announced yet. The Detroit concert will be the finale of Bryan’s 2016 tour.

Singer Patti LaBelle, 71, is reportedly dating her much younger drummer

Patti, Patti! Singing legend Patti LaBelle —who performs at the Sound Board at MotorCity Casino Hotel tonight — is reportedly dating her 41-year-old drummer, Eric Seats. Gossip sites report that Seats and Labelle, who is 71, have been dating for the past year, but have been trying to keep it quiet.

NYC cab driver gets a $500 fine for refusing to pick up Al Roker

In November, Al Roker fired off a series of tweets complaining that a New York City Yellow cab driver passed him on the street and picked up a white man a block away. The “Today” show television personality said he filed a complaint, and this week it was revealed that the driver, Mahabur Rahman, pleaded guilty to the violation of a service refusal. He was fined $500. According to AOL.com, Rahman was found liable of the same charge in May and was fined $200.

■Sunday WDET’s Ann Delisi will broadcast her “Essential Music” show live from Shinola in Midtown 11 a.m.-2 p.m.. The first 50 visitors will receive a pair of tickets to the Auto Show. Delisi is also collecting suggestions for the best “driving songs,” which may be played on the show.

■Fashion designer and heiress Nicky Hilton Rothschild and husband James Rothschild, a banking heir, are expecting their first child this summer.

Yolanda Foster has filed from divorce from record producer David Foster. They were married for four years.
