A pair of Motor City music legends, Madonna and Jack White, met up in White’s adopted town of Nashville Monday night, and their interaction was playfully bumpy.

During her show at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, Madonna caught a glimpse of White, who apparently was standing too still for the Queen of Pop.

“Don’t be laid back, just ’cause you’re famous,” Madonna chided the rocker, according to The Tennessean. “I’m famous too, you know. And I get excited when I see people I like. But maybe you don’t like me?”

White’s face was flashed up on the big screen, and he could be seen smiling and laughing. He then blew a kiss Madonna’s way.

“Thank you,” she responded. “Some kind of acknowledgment.”

The concert was Madonna’s first ever in Nashville, and she reportedly took the stage at 10:37 p.m., more than two and a half hours after the concert’s scheduled start time. The show included an impromptu cover of Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire” and found Madonna reacting to reports that she took the stage in Louisville two nights prior under the influence of alcohol.

“This is me sober,” she told the crowd. “I know there’s been reports that I’ve been falling down drunk on the stage. Y’all wish I could dance in six-inch heels and be drunk.”

White was back in Nashville after visiting Detroit last week. On Friday, he was pictured at his Third Man Records store in the Cass Corridor with Huey Lewis, who was in town for a performance at the North American International Auto Show Charity Preview.
