The Meridian Winter Blast will donate more than $50,000 to the Flint Child Health and Development Fund.

The event’s Sing, Skate and Slide campaign raised $10,111, and title sponsor Meridian Health Plan donated an additional $40,000.

The funds were donated by festival goers, the bands that performed, the Winter Blast Foundation and Talmer Bank & Trust.

The Winter Blast, which took place Feb. 12-14 at Campus Martius, also collected funds and goods for Matrix Human Services. Admission fees resulted in $7,500, plus 12,200 pounds of food and more than 1,000 books to be distributed to local families in need.
