A sure sign of warmer weather is the return of food trucks. The mobile restaurants will return to Cadillac Square at Campus Martius Park in downtown Detroit Thursday.

The rotating line up of trucks includes classics like Mac Shack, and Norma G’s and new operations like El Charro, which will bring their beloved “puffy tacos” with deep-fried soft corn shell to the masses downtown.

In all more than 35 locally-operated trucks will appear this season, offering 20 types of cuisine for $5-$10. The food truck operators apply online to participate and are scheduled based on their availability. They do have to pay a fee to be in the mix.

The food trucks will be downtown 11 a.m.-2 p.m. weekdays through October 28. Additional summer programming –including live music – begins at Campus Martius on June 1.
