1. GM River Days at Detroit RiverWalk

River Days — the annual riverfront festival leading up to Monday’s fireworks display — includes concerts, food, water-centric activities, boat tours and other family-friendly fun. Musical highlights include Patti LaBelle and SWV on Saturday, and Mint Condition and Jeffrey Osborne on Sunday. 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sat. and Sun. $3-5 admission, free admission 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Fri. 2. Great Lakes Food, Art and Music Festival at Ford Field Park

Hear local rock bands Howling Diablos, the HandGrenades, Cure cover band Re-Cure and more Saturday afternoon and the Reeferman and Dan Tillery (a Waterford man who was recently in the news after his “smiling dog” photo went viral) will perform Sunday. The free festival also has kids activities, monster truck rides and more. Noon-11 p.m. Sat. and noon-8 p.m. Sun. Free. 150 Griswold, Northville.

3. Amp Live 2016 at Freedom Hill Amphitheatre
