SALUTE TO AMERICA

at The Henry Ford

A local tradition with patriotic music, warm breezes (hopefully) and fireworks. Hear the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the United States Army Field Band, Concert Band and Soldiers’ Chorus perform tunes perfect for the Fourth of July holiday. With a carnival, art fair, BMX show, petting zoo, pig racing and concerts, this four-day party has something for everyone. Previously only open for lunch, this downtown restaurant debuts a new dinner menu Thursday. Starting this week dinner will be served Thursdays-Saturdays. The farm-to-table restaurant also launched an entertainment series Thursday and Friday evenings. Thursday check out Detroit-based stand up comedian Josh Adams. Colors runs a front-of-house training program to give local folks with only entry-level skills a chance to learn the restaurant business and be placed in jobs in local restaurants, including Colors. 8 p.m. Thurs. 311 E.
