1. Too Hot to Handel with Rackham Choir at Detroit Opera House

2. Southwest Holiday Fest in Mexicantown

This family-friendly event has winter-themed activities, horse and wagon rides, shopping, food and more. Santa will be around, and Christmas trees will be sold at Detroit Farm and Garden. 4-8 p.m. Sat. Free. Bagley/Vernor corridor between 16th and 25th streets, Detroit.

3. Mosaic 25th Anniversary Season at Detroit Film Theatre

After a busy year performing at Carnegie Hall, the Apollo Theatre and locally, the Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit gets ready to launch its 25th season. This weekend, see a best-of show titled “Only the Best: 25 Years of Mosaic Stories.” 8 p.m. Sat., and 4 p.m. Sun. $25, $20 seniors and students, $15 children, $30 and up for season pass (three shows). 5200 Woodward, Detroit. mosaicdetroit.org.
