This summer’s Stars and Stripes Festival will relocate from Freedom Hill in Sterling Heights to Novi’s Suburban Collection Showplace.

The move to Oakland County comes after the event’s contract was not renewed by Palace Sports and Entertainment last fall. The Palace took over management of Freedom Hill in November 2015.

Stars & Stripes Festival will be June 29-July 2 at the Suburban Collection, and will bring with it a carnival, fireworks and concerts from local and national acts. Along with a new venue, the event is also debuting a Monster Truck Car Crush this year.

The entertainment line up and schedule will be announced soon. Last summer’s headliners included Styx, Uncle Kracker and Seether.

The four-day festival began in downtown Mount Clemens and moved to Freedom Hill County Park in 2013 where organizers say it attracted 1.5 million people and raised $500,000 for local charities.
