The Epicurean Group will open its newest restaurant Saturday when the Nomad Grill debuts in Southfield.

The contemporary American restaurant is located at the Best Western Premier, the cylinder-shaped building at 26555 Telegraph. Saturday’s opening day event is also a fundraiser; 100 percent of profits will be donated to the March of Dimes.

After opening day Saturday, the Nomad Grill will be open for dinner only on Sunday for Mother’s. Starting Monday the restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast items, $9-$4 include eggs Benedict, cheese blintzes, and bagel with lox. The lunch and dinner menus offer French onion soup, salads, and entrees like waygu meatloaf, seared salmon and root beer-braised short ribs. The dessert menu features a panna cotta made with Vernors and Better Made potato chip streusel.

The Nomad will also serve a lobster corn dog ($21) with cabbage slaw and dijon hollandiase. The item was a favorite at Coach Insignia, another Epicurean Group restaurant which closed in February after 13 years on floors 71 and 72 of the GM Renaissance Center.

The Coach Insigna Cabernet will also be available, along with nearly 400 other bottles of wine from around the world.

Corporate executive chef Kevin Green is leading the team at the restaurant which also includes 20,000 square feet of conference and event space.
