Leah Remini to produce a special on Jehovah’s Witnesses
Following Leah Remini’s Emmy Award-winning A&E series “Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath,” the actress will produce a special for the same network that focuses on Jehovah’s Witnesses, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The special will air between "Aftermath" seasons. The third season will focus on the Church of Scientology's tax-exempt status. “To go right after the heart of the church’s power and resources and challenge fundamentally the foundation upon which they stand,” Remini said during a panel discussion this month at an event in Los Angeles.
Josh Denny did himself no favors on Van Lathan’s podcast
Comedian and Food Network host Josh Denny came under fire after he said on Twitter that “’Straight White Male’ has become this century’s N-Word.” He went on Van Lathan’s podcast “The Red Pill” this week to discuss the controversy. (You may remember Lathan as the TMZ staffer who tangled with Kanye West when he came into the gossip outlet’s offices and said slavery was a choice.) During the interview, Denny used the racial slur multiple times, which Lathan asked him not to. Denny said his tweet was never intended to say the two words or phases hurt people the same way, but that "straight white male" to describe someone in a negative light is divisive. "There's a reason why the N-Word is the heavyweight champion of racial slurs," Lathan said. "It's a word that's used to dehumanize people."
