Kathy Griffin tour headed to Detroit
A year after a controversial photo landed her in a heap of trouble, Kathy Griffin is headed on tour, including an October date at the Fisher
Kathy Griffin has set a Detroit date as part of her first U.S. tour since a mock photo of her posing with the severed head of Donald Trump put her career in dire straits.
The comedian will play Detroit's Fisher Theater on Oct. 26. Tickets, $55.50-$160, are on sale now via Ticketmaster.
Last May, Griffin posted a photo of herself holding a Donald Trump mask covered in ketchup, made out to look like the severed, bloody head of the President. The reaction was swift: Trump tweeted, an investigation was launched, tour dates were canceled, Griffin lost her New Year's Eve hosting gig (and her friendship) with CNN's Anderson Cooper.
She eventually returned to the stage and is promising to talk about the photo and its fallout. The tour is dubbed the "Laugh Your Head Off World Tour," and its promotional image sends up the Trump photo, and shows a smiling Griffin holding a globe in her hand. (This time, there's no blood.)
The Fisher Theater date is currently the last show on Griffin's itinerary. She's currently touring in Canada.
