Tarana Burke of #MeToo movement to speak at Allied Media Conference

Tarana Burke, founder of the #MeToo campaign, appeared in Detroit in October at the Women's Convention.

Tarana Burke, founder of the #MeToo movement, will speak at the Detroit Film Theatre June 15 at 6:30 p.m. as the keynoter for the Allied Media Conference opening ceremony.

The conference runs June 14-17.The DFT event is free and open to the public. 

Opening ceremonies will also feature Detroit's RV Mendoza, a Filipino singer and performance artist behind the annual #THAW party popular with millennials. 

The Detroit Film Theatre is located on the John R side of the Detroit Institute of Arts.
