Prince’s estate and Sony Music ink deal 

Sony Music Entertainment and the estate of late music icon Prince announced on Wednesday an exclusive distribution agreement, Variety reports. The deal includes 35 previously-released albums from the Purple One’s catalog, including “1999” and “Diamonds and Pearls,” which will move over to Sony in 2021. According to Variety, Warner Brothers retains rights to “Purple Rain” and “Batman” since those are soundtrack recordings for films and are subject to different terms. 

Wynonna Judd’s daughter sentenced to eight years in prison

Grace Pauline Kelley, the 22-year-old daughter of country singer Wynonna Judd, has been sentenced to eight years in prison for violating her probation from a previous drug arrest. Us Weekly reports that she was arrested in 2016 for scheduled two drugs (meth) and for evading arrest. She was also popped in 2015 for another drug-related charge.

Floyd Mayweather buys $18 million watch

Former professional boxer Floyd Mayweather took to social media this week to show off his new ice in the form a watch consisting of 260 carats of emerald cut diamonds. The bling, reportedly priced at $18 million, was designed by Jacob and Co. and, according to TMZ, was sold to Mayweather by Japanese jeweler Tadashi Fukushima. In other Mayweather-related news, his father, Floyd Mayweather Sr., was found not guilty of attacking a woman after a Las Vegas boxing match in September. A woman had accused him of punching her in the leg, but he's off the hook.
