Restaurant and food briefs
Hummus & Pita Co. is coming: The first Michigan location for the Hummus & Pita Co. chain is set to open in October at Great Lakes Crossing’s food court. The healthy Mediterranean concept serves made-from-scratch breads, vegetarian dishes and meats cooked in a traditional taboon oven. With other stores in New York City and elsewhere around the country, Hummus & Pita Co. is also known for its vegan, dairy-free and gluten-free hummus shakes.
Botanical beverage: Petal organic sparkling rose beverage is now available at area Plum Markets. The beverage is sold in 12-ounce cans and has no calories, sugar or caffeine.
Bubba’s supports the troops: Throughout July, Bubba’s 33 bar and restaurant will donate $1 from every Patriot Burger sold to Homes for Our Troops.
