LIVE GLASSBLOWING AND ARTS FESTIVAL
at Russell Industrial Center
See artists from across the nation create works big and small within the captivating medium of glass. This annual event is a fundraiser for Art Road nonprofit, which helps gives children artistic outlets. Besides live creating, the event features a live auction, an art gallery with a variety of media, food trucks, DJs and a cash bar. Catch a staged reading of this play chronicling some of the women involved in Detroit’s 1967 rebellion. “After/Life: In Honor of the City Rising from the Ashes” includes a cast of new and established local actors and debuted last year as part of the 50th anniversary of the Detroit rebellion. 7 p.m. Fri. This street band festival returns with the Detroit Party Marching Band, Hungry March Band, Gabriel Brass Band, Filthy Fem Corps, Chaotic Noise Marching Corps, Drumadics and more.
