Name: John D. Lamb

About: This Michigan artist is a storyteller in the vein of folk/rock. He's a songwriter's songwriter, and for decades he has hosted and directed a variety of writers' retreats, including the third annual Lost Lake Writers Retreat Oct. 4-7 in northeast Michigan and his 24th annual Lamb's Retreat for Songwriters in November in Harbor Springs. 

Next: Lamb celebrates this latest release, "A Movie Night," at 8 p.m. Saturday at MAMA's Coffeehouse inside Birmingham Unitarian Church at 38651 Woodward. The 15-song album features guests appearances by local musicians Jim Bizer, Bugs Beddow and accordion player Len Wallace.
