Savor Detroit at Great Lakes Culinary Center: Hour Detroit’s five-night dinner series will raise funds for Give Detroit Challenge and has partnered with featured artist Tony RoKo. Buddy’s opens in Zoo: Detroit Zoo visitors will be able to dine on one of the region’s favorite pizza brands with the opening of Buddy’s Pizza location inside the attraction Thursday. The 5,200-square-foot restaurant seats 88 inside and 75 on a patio and rooftop deck. Hungry visitors can dine on Buddy’s signature square Sicilian-style pizza, salads and beer.

Provisions to open Detroit store: Ferndale’s Provisions retail shop for cheese and chocolate announced this week that it would open a Midtown shop in late November and the store will change its name to Mongers’ Provisions. The 1,028-square-foot shop will be at 4240 Cass in Suite 111, and will offer high-end, quality cheese and charcuterie boards for big and small gatherings.

Leelanau named top wine region: Michigan’s Leelanau Peninsula has been named one of the three top wine regions in the country by the 10 Best Readers’ Choice travel award contest promoted by USA Today.

Diamonds Steak offers 35 cent filet tips: To celebrate its 35th anniversary, Diamond’s Steak and Seafood in Howell will sell filet tip skewers for 35 cents for 35 days, through Nov. 4. The promotion is limited to one order per guest, dine-in only. The shop’s owners are currently readying a second Diamonds location in Royal Oak.
