1. Light Shows at Detroit Zoo and Merriman Hollow Park: This year is the 25th anniversary of the Wayne County Lightfest, family-friendly light show tradition. Cruise through this festive path of holiday lights. The Santa Shelter will be open with refreshments and a chance for a photo with the big jolly guy through Dec. 23. Festival hours are 7-10 p.m. Mon.-Fri. and 6-10 p.m. Sat.-Sun. through Dec. 31. 7651 Merriman, Westland. (734) 261-1990. Wild Lights at the Detroit Zoo also starts this week. While the lights are something to see — 5 million covering buildings, trees and animal-shaped sculptures. This holiday tradition also includes ice carving, chorale performances, a wildlife photography exhibit and the “Polar Express 4-D Experience.” Sat.-Sun., plus Nov. 23-25 and 30 and Dec. 1-2, 7-9, 14-16, 20-23 and 26-31. $11 and up. 8450 W. 10 Mile, Royal Oak. detroitzoo.org.  

2. Marvel Universe Live at Little Caesars Arena: See all your super strong, colorful Marvel heroes live on stage at this arena stunt show where the Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Spider-Man and Doctor Strange team up to save the world from Loki’s evil plot. 11 a.m., 3 and 7 p.m. Sat., and noon and 4 p.m. Sun. $20 and up. 2645 Woodward, Detroit. 3. Audra McDonald at Hill Auditorium: This multi-Tony Award-winning Broadway star will perform songs from American musical theater. She’ll be joined by pianist Andy Einhorn, bassist Mark Vanderpoel and Gene Lewin on drums. 8 p.m. Sat. $20 and up. 825 N. University, Ann Arbor. ums.org.
