Thompson's show will air 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Mon.-Fri. starting Sept. 9.

"I'm happy to be back at 910AM Superstation and I'm looking forward to making Detroit's recovery and poverty the front and center of our conversation," said Thompson in a news release issued Wednesday.

On Tuesday the station announced that Detroit radio personality and comedian Coco would replace the Nolan Finley show in the 7-9 a.m. weekday time slot. Finley, the editorial page editor of The Detroit News, was on the station for two years.

Thompson previously hosted the show "Redline" on 910AM.
