Thanksgiving Parade will stick to Woodward
In spite of the M-1 Rail construction, the 88th America's Thanksgiving Parade will step off at 9 a.m. Nov. 27 and take its traditional route down Woodward.
As announced in June, ice dancing Olympic gold medalists Meryl Davis and Charlie White of Michigan are this year's Co-Grand Marshals. This year's parade theme is "Walking on Sunshine."
The Parade Company announced Wednesday that the organization is working with M-1 Rail officials to make sure the parade's three mile route down Woodward will not be changed due to construction. The parade is free to view; $40 grandstand seats are on sale now at theparade.org. The festivities will air on WDIV-TV (Channel 4) and on 760 WJR-AM.
