As part of a limited, nationwide run to promote her new memoir, “Becoming,” Michelle Obama will appear at Little Caesars Arena on Dec. 11.

The 10-city U.S. tour, “Becoming: An Intimate Conversation with Michelle Obama,” features a conversation with the former first lady and moderators who are to be announced, according to a news release Wednesday. The tour kicks off in her hometown of Chicago on Nov. 13, the date of the book's release.

Tickets to the Detroit date start at $29.50 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Sept. 21. They can be purchased online at BecomingMichelleObama.com, in person at the Little Caesars box office or by calling Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000. Some VIP meet-and-greet packages are available at Ticketmaster.com.

Michelle Obama's "Becoming" comes out Nov. 13.

The tour is using Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan platform to thwart scalpers and bots. Fans can register through 10 p.m. Tuesday at verifiedfan.ticketmaster.com.

“I’ve spent the last year and a half reflecting on my story as deeply and honestly as I could, and now I’m thrilled to travel the country and do the same with readers this fall,” said Michelle Obama in a news release. “I hope that this tour will inspire others to reflect upon and share their own stories — all the joys and sorrows, all the scars and renewals— so that together, we can better recognize that each of us, in our own way, is in a constant process of becoming.”

Obama and the tour’s producer Live Nation will donate 10 percent of ticket sales to local charities, schools and community groups in each city.
