Detroit pubs to be featured as 'Best Bars in America'

Area bars will be featured on the upcoming "Best Bars in America" series by Esquire Networks.

Film crews from the network were in town in October, shooting footage at several establishments for the shows. Vinsetta Garage, off Woodward in Berkley, is set to be featured Wednesday when the show airs at 9 p.m. Cafe D'Mongo's downtown is scheduled for May 27. An episode featuring Cadieux Cafe, on Detroit's east side, is scheduled for June 3.

The show, hosted by Sean Patton and Jay Larson also shot at Blake's Hard Cider Co. in Armada and Two James Spirits in Corktown.

The first season of "Best Bars in America" premiered in June and featured Portland, Ore., New York, Austin, Texas, Boston, New Orleans and Los Angeles.

Esquire magazine named Detroit "Bar City" in its June/July issue last year.
