Rose’s Fine Foods gets accolades from Bon Appétit
Rose’s Fine Food in Detroit is the only Michigan eatery named to the 50 Best New Restaurants of 2015 list by Bon Appétit magazine.
The food experts recommend Rose’s egg sandwich, their homemade baked goods and the “Crybaby” — a glazed potato doughnut.
Rose’s, which opened last year at 10551 E. Jefferson, has received local attention not only for their home-style menu but also because owners Molly Mitchell and Lucy Carnaghi (they’re cousins) have opted to pay their staff a living wage and tips are distributed evenly among the staff.
Being on Bon Appétit’s list of 50 gives Rose’s a chance to advance to the Hot 10, the publication’s list of the very best new restaurants in the country. Those picks will be revealed Aug. 18.
Rose’s is open 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Mon.-Fri. and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Sat. Call (313) 309-7947.
