For those who love barbequed meats and ice cream, take note, the Woodpile BBQ Shack opens Saturday.

Located in a former A & W drive-through restaurant was at 303 S. Main in downtown Clawson, the carry-out shack will host its first official lunch service at 11 a.m. Saturday.

The meat will be crafted by award-winning pit master Steve “Bubba” Coddington, formerly of Lockhart’s BBQ in Royal Oak. Expect beef brisket, pulled pork, pulled chicken, smoked jalapeno cheddar sausage and ribs, plus all the usual barbeque sides like mac and cheese, beans, slaw and cornbread.

Cool off your mouth with sweets from Treat Dreams Creamery. Known for trendy flavors like salted caramel and kooky monster (blue vanilla with cookie pieces and cookie dough), Treat Dreams also has locations in Ferndale (the original) and Midtown.

Woodpile BBQ Shack, which also offers catering services, will be open daily 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Visit woodpilebbqshack.com.
