The hotly-anticipated new chain restaurant Wahlburgers is scheduled to open around July 23 in Greektown.

Actor and co-owner Mark Wahlberg and Dan Gilbert’s JACK Entertainment, which oversees the Greektown Casino, released photos and a video statement over the weekend. Wahlberg is in Detroit filming “Transformers 5.”

“Come down here and hang out,” said Wahlberg in the video, filmed in front of 569 Monroe where the new hamburger restaurant will open in four weeks.

“We’re shooting the movie in town we’re going to be down here every night hanging out, come on down,” said Wahlberg, who owns the chain with his brothers Paul Wahlberg and Donnie Wahlberg — also an actor.

The 4,200-square-foot restaurant will serve lunch and dinner and feature a full bar. Besides burgers, the menu will includes salads, fries and other sides such as tater tots.

The Greektown restaurant will be first of six Wahlburgers planned for the southeast Michigan area. These locations are part of a nationwide expansion for the brand, which struck deals with various franchise groups to expand to a total of 118 restaurants.

The casual burger chain is featured on an A&E reality show of the same name.
