Apparatus Room hosts Celebrity Chef Tour dinner
Some of the Midwest’s most high-profile chefs will cook together at a one-night-only dinner in Detroit that is part of the James Beard Foundation’s Celebrity Chef Tour.
James Beard Award-nominated chef Thomas Lents will host the dinner at the Apparatus Room on Feb. 28 at the Detroit Foundation Hotel. He’s invited Chicago chefs Nick Dostal of Chicago’s Sixteen – Lents former restaurant – Noah Sandoval of Oriole and Ryan McCasky of Acadia.
Those up on the Metro Detroit restaurant scene will recognize Chartreuse Kitchen & Cocktail’s chef Doug Hewitt, Andy Hollyday of Selden Standard, Anthony Lombardo of the forthcoming SheWolf and James Rigato of Mabel Gray. James Beard Award Winner Jimmy Schmidt of Foodshed in Detroit is also on board.
The point of the Celebrity Chef Tour dinner, which is a benefit for the James Beard Foundation, is to give diners around the country a taste of the caliber of hospitality and food at the James Beard House in New York City.
Tickets to the Feb. 28 dinner are are $175, or $135 for U.S. Bank Flexperks Rewards members and $115 for U.S. bank Altitude Reserve Visa Infinite members. Tickets for cardholders go on sale Tuesday. The general public and JBF members can buy tickets Sunday.
