Detroit Restaurant Week starts Friday
Detroit Restaurant Week returns this month with 10 days of fixed-price menus that showcase the best of two dozen businesses within city limits.
Coming off the high of Valentine’s Day week, restaurants are hoping to keep the momentum going with this dining promotion, which kicks off Friday and runs through Feb. 25.
A mix of established and newer restaurants will offer a three-course meal for $39. Five other more casual spots — La Feria, La Lanterna, the Block and both Detroit Vegan Soul locations — will have a lower price point of $29.
The $39-per-meal spots include Detroit Restaurant Week mainstays 24Grille, the Whitney (which isn’t participating until Sunday) and Detroit Seafood Market. They’re joined by newer restaurants like Central Kitchen + Bar, Grey Ghost, Maru Sushi and Craft Work.
Detroit Restaurant Week menus typically offer a few choices for each course, giving diners a chance to try the restaurant’s best offerings for a promotional price.
For example at Grey Ghost (47 Watson) choose from popcorn shrimp bisque or a gem wedge salad for first course. Pork shoulder, broccoli cheddar spaetzle or skate wing piccata are options for a main course, and a salted toffee sundae is served for dessert.
Andiamo (400 Renaissance Center) usually offers a wide variety on its DRW menu. This year there are seven options for the main course, including gnocchi rustica, pan-roasted salmon, veal piccata and more.
During the promotion, many restaurants also offer their regular, a la carte menu.
