Lumen Detroit, a bar and restaurant anchoring DTE Energy’s Beacon Park in downtown Detroit, will open Tuesday ahead of schedule.

Details of the 4,000-square-foot green restaurant with plentiful indoor and outdoor seating were announced last week. More details can be read here.

Owners were conservatively estimating the restaurant would open in the first two weeks of April, but Monday announced Lumen would be ready for service from 3-10 p.m. Tuesday.

Lumen Detroit is owned and operated by Norm and Bonnie LePage and their son and daughter-in-law Scott and Susan LePage. The LePages also own Big Rock Chophouse and Griffin Claw Brewing Company in Birmingham and Clubhouse BFD in Rochester Hills.

Executive chef Gabby Milton has developed an accessible menu featuring beer-friendly snacks and entrees like PEI mussels, steak and frites and a house burger.

Lumen Detroit, 1903 Grand River, will open for dinner only and will add lunch and brunch service later this year.
