1st combo Applebee's/IHOP opens in Millender Center
The first-ever combination Applebee's Grill & Bar/IHOP opened in Detroit's Millender Center, across from the Renaissance Center.
The nearly 12,000-square-foot restaurant is the first of its kind with this combination of brands serving in one, 300-seat dining room. Diners can choose from abbreviated menus from either chain, such as pancakes and other breakfast items from IHOP, and Applebee’s quesadilla burger, fiesta lime chicken, riblets and more. There’s also a barista coffee bar.
This week IHOP made news by re-branding some of its restaurants to IHOb, with a focus on burger sales. This Millender Center IHOP will not be branded as such.
According to the owners, Livonia-based TEAM Schostak Family Restaurants, this Applebee’s Grill and Bar/IHOP, which was first announced in December 2016, has created 120 jobs. It opened with a soft launch on May 29, and will be fully operational starting June 26. A grand opening celebration is being planned with details to be announced.
