Detroit restaurant names hot dog after Jeff Goldblum's laugh in 'Jurassic Park'
It's half a chuckle and a half growl. Jeff Goldblum's weird laugh at the beginning of the 1993 film "Jurassic Park" has been remixed, notated as sheet music and has been given the full internet meme treatment.
Now Jeff Goldblum's laugh — or rather the laugh of his character Dr. Ian Malcolm — from an early helicopter scene of the film has been honored with a hot dog at Slows Bar BQ restaurant in Detroit.
The popular Corktown restaurant has launched Side Piece, a limited-time hot dog menu that will pop-up every Wednesday throughout the summer.
"Jeff Goldblum's Jurassic Park Laugh" is a dog topped with pastrami, kraut, Swiss cheese and hot brown mustard. It joins four other gourmet dogs, each $5 on a menu designed by executive chef Ryan Esker. Another offering titled "Semester Abroad" has sherry-carmelized onions, Gruyere cheese, bacon jam and pork jus.
Side Piece will pop-up inside of Slows, 2138 Michigan in Detroit, at 5 p.m. every Wednesday this summer starting June 20. Call (313) 962-9828.
