For those who can't wait for Como's to reopen in 2019 under new management and ownership, Peas & Carrots Hospitality is hosting a "FOMO'S" pop-up on Como's streetside deck.

Starting Aug. 3 and extending through the end of summer, the Ferndale institution will let guests visit the restaurant before construction for games, live music, beer and cocktails on the patio. Service will be held 6 p.m.-2 a.m. Thurs.-Sat. For now there is no plan to serve food during these events.

Chef Zack Sklar's Peas & Carrot's Hospitality announced in June that they have purchased the Como's building and will revive it by next year. Como's, known for pizza, cocktails and late-night service, closed for good in December after highly-publicized struggles with health code violations.

The FOMO'S pop-up (FOMO is an acronym for "fear of missing out") aims to "celebrate Como's revitalization and act as a re-introduction of Como's into the Ferndale community prior to a complete renovation," according to a press release.

The restaurant, at 22812 Woodward in Ferndale, will be Peas & Carrots Hospitality's 13th restaurant opening in six years. Some of the other local restaurants in this group — which includes partners Jim Bellinson and Josh Humph — are Social Kitchen in Birmingham and Beau's Grillery in Bloomfield Hills.
