Guests can get a sneak peek of Hazel, Ravines and Downtown, a new casual fine dining Birmingham restaurant and market, when chef Emmele Herrold cooks for two seatings at Hazel Park’s Frame. 

The Aug. 5 dinners, 4 and 7 p.m., will showcase chef Herrold’s appreciation for Argentine cuisine. These meals will highlight just part of what is expected on the menu at Hazel, Ravines and Downtown, set to open this fall. 

HRD – at 34977 Woodward where the Stand restaurant used to be – is billing itself as a “come-as-you-are casual fine dining” establishment with a chef-driven menu that will feature both trendy and comfort food. 

The 10,000-square-foot space will have an open kitchen, open dining room for 130 guests, flexible private rooms that can hold 8-100, an outdoor grotto for 20 plus a casual market with prepared foods. 

Owner/operator Beth Hussey and chef Herrold have worked together before; the pair was the manager/chef team that opened Ferndale’s One-Eyed Betty’s and Pop’s for Italian restaurants. For this project, they are overseeing the concept and construction from the very start.
