Big Fish in Dearborn has closed
Big Fish Seafood Bistro in Dearborn has permanently closed, according to its parent company Landry's.
“We have decided to sell the location for another potential development, and as a result, Big Fish located at 700 Town Center Drive closed its doors on Thursday, September 6," said Landry’s Chief Operating Officer Howard Cole in a statement to The Detroit News.
"We are grateful for the support of the local community and loyal patrons. We value our employees, their dedication to our company and are working to relocate them.”
The fine dining seafood destination was part of the Muer Seafood Restaurant group that also includes Meriwether's in Southfield, Gandy Dancer in Ann Arbor, Charley's Crab in Grand Rapids and other restaurants out of state.
Founded by late restaurateur Chuck Muer, the group, then 16 restaurants strong, was purchased by Texas-based Landry's in 2002, according to the Houston Business Journal.
Muer and his wife, Betty, were lost at sea in the Caribbean in 1993.
