Troy staple Kim's Restaurant will close at the end of the month
After nearly 45 years of serving sweet and sour shrimp, egg rolls, fried rice and more, Kim's Restaurant in Troy will close after service on Aug. 31.
A post on social media announced the closing and thanked customers for their "support and patience." A call to the restaurant confirmed the closing was decided so that the Yee siblings, who own the business, can retire. The Chinese American restaurant opened in late 1974.
The restaurant was a favorite, earning local "best of" awards and receiving high scores from Yelp and Google reviews.
Kim's, 102 E. Long Lake in Troy, will be open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Mon.-Thurs., 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Fri.-Sat. and 11:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Sun. through Aug. 31.
