Pernoi, a new fine dining destination from chefs Takashi Yagihashi and Luciano DelSignore is opening Tuesday in Birmingham.

The two industry leaders, both award-winning chefs, have teamed up to launch the hospitality-focused restaurant, which DelSignore described as "extremely contemporary" and a mix of Italian, Japanese and French cuisines.

Diners can make reservations through the Resy app. According to information on the app, some walk-ins will be seated on a first-come, first-serve basis on both the bar and their Port Room. Those seeking to dine in the more formal Maple Room should make reservations in advance (also, jackets are required for men).

The 2,700-square-foot restaurant at 310 E. Maple, where upscale American restaurant Cafe Via was before closing last March, is open at 5 p.m. Tuesdays-Sundays for dinner service. Reservations can also be made by calling (248) 940-0000.
