Some bars around Metro Detroit are pairing Girl Scout cookies with beer flights.

It’s Girl Scout cookie season, and no one loves these tasty treats more than adults.

Beer-friendly bars around town are banking on this, including Ale Mary's Beer Hall in Royal Oak. They are offering beer flights paired with the famous cookies Feb. 23-March 1. Get four 5-ounce beers from Founders Brewing Co. and eight cookies (two of each kind) for $20, or $15 in advance.

The pairings include Do-si-dos oatmeal and peanut butter cookie with Founder’s Dirty Bastard Scotch ale and Samoas (the ones with the coconut, chocolate and caramel) with Curmudgeon ’16 (an old ale brewed with molasses). The newest cookie to the Girl Scout lineup, S’mores, is teamed with Breakfast NITRO Imperial stout and lemon-y Savannah Smiles go with Founder’s Rubaeus NITRO raspberry ale.

Advance ticketing is available through Eventbrite, or pay the day of if there is availability. Tickets can be used any time Feb. 23-March 1 during business hours.

Ale Mary’s, 316 S. Main, is open 11 a.m.-2 a.m. daily. Call (248) 268-1939.

Ale Mary’s sister restaurant Terry's Terrace, 36470 Jefferson in Harrison Township, is offering the same deal during the same time frame. Click here to pay for a spot in advance.
