The first teaser trailer for director J.J. Abrams' "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" debuted Friday morning online and in 30 theaters in the U.S. and Canada, including Rave Motion Pictures Ann Arbor 20 in Ypsilanti.
The teaser gives fans a first look at new stars John Boyega, Daisy Ridley and Oscar Isaac, as well as stormtroopers and familiar ships such as the Millennium Falcon and X-wings.
Original stars Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher returned for the film, which wrapped up filming early this month, but don't appear in the teaser.
In Ypsilanti and the other selected theaters, the teaser will play before every showing through Sunday. The teaser will be in theaters worldwide beginning in December.
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is due to hit theaters on Dec. 18, 2015.
