Metro Detroit movie theaters to screen ‘Purple Rain’

Movie theatres across Metro Detroit are remembering Prince’s life with special screenings of the 1984 rock drama “Purple Rain” starring Prince as “The Kid.”

The film won the singer-songwriter 1985 Academy Award for Best Original Score and the 1985 Grammy for Best Album of Instrumental Score Written for a Motion Picture.

If you’re ready to don purple and “go crazy” to honor Prince’s legacy, head to these cinemas this week:
