The Detroit Symphony Orchestra’s Scott Harrison, vice president for advancement and external relations, will leave in September to become executive director at the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra.

National Public Radio has called LACO “America’s finest chamber orchestra.”

Harrison first joined the DSO in 2010 as senior director of patron engagement and loyalty programs. Most recently, Harrison led the annual fund campaign that’s on track to raise $18 million this fiscal year in operating support.

DSO Executive Vice President Paul Hogle credited Harrison on Thursday with making “our digital and traditional media channels the juggernauts they are today.”
