Jack White and Berry Gordy are teaming up for a series of reissues from Gordy’s Tamla Records, set to launch at White’s Third Man Records store in the Cass Corridor.

When the store opens its doors on Black Friday, among the items for sale will be reissues of nine 45 rpm records from the Supremes, Marvin Gaye, the Miracles, Barrett Strong and more, Third Man announced Wednesday. The records will be packaged in replica black-and-yellow sleeves designed to match the original singles, which were released on Tamla Records, Gordy’s original record label, which he kept as a sub-label during the Motown years.

The reissues are part of an “ongoing partnership with Universal Music to bring Tamla’s classic early Motown records back to vinyl,” according to a release. The singles will be available exclusively at the Third Man store at 441 W. Canfield Street, next to the Shinola store.

The initial releases in the series are:

Marvin Gaye, “Let Your Conscience Be Your Guide” with “Never Let You Go” on the flip-side; The Supremes, “Buttered Popcorn” with “Who’s Lovin You”; The Miracles, “Way Over There” with “(You Can) Depend on Me”; Barret Strong, “Money” with “Oh I Apologize”; Barrett Strong, “Let’s Rock” with “Do the Very Best You Can”; Chico Leverett, “Solid Sender” with “I’ll Never Love Again”; The Swinging Tigers, “Snake Walk (Part 1)” with “Snake Walk (Part 2)”; The Satintones, “Going to the Hop” with “Motor City”; Nick & the Jaguars, “Ich-i-bon #1” with “Cool and Crazy.”

The store opening will also include performances by Margo Price, Lillie Mae Rische, the Gories and more. Further announcements are expected in the coming days.

The new Third Man is the company’s second location, following its flagship store in Nashville.

The opening of the Cass Third Man location was announced in June.
