Name: Crashing Cairo

Line up: Robert Wax, vocals; Joel Cooper, guitar; Dustin Walker, keyboards; Nick Potter, bass; Dave West, drums.

Sound: The band members dub the group “anthemic rock.” The Police, Coldplay and Radiohead are cited as influences, which is evident on Crashing Cairo’s newest song “Cotton Pillow.”

Day Job: Frontman Robert Wax teaches fifth grade at Norwood Elementary in Royal Oak.

The hook up: Crashing Cairo has opened six times for nationally known Michigan band the Verve Pipe, and Wax opened twice for Kid Rock as a solo artist.
